We are currently constructing a new layout for the club. The track is a closed asymmetric loop. There are two mainlines, a branch line, various goods yards and two areas for assembling trains. It is expected we could have five people operating trains simultaneously.
After much discussion and testing of various DCC systems we elected to use the NCE system for control as we found it to be the most intuitive and user-friendly.
We take the layout to exhibitions 2-3 times a year and to allow for closer interaction with visitors we have NCE utp panels located on both the inside and outside facias of the layout, thus allowing multiple operators to run trains from various positions inside and outside the layout oval. Three control panels mounted on the facia on the inside of the oval control the various points/turnouts.
